Nate Winters Transfers to Westminster Academy, Seeking a New Challenge Ahead of Senior Season

For some athletes, a transfer is about finding more playing time. For Nate Winters, it was about finding the right environment to prepare for the next level.
The 6-foot-7 Class of 2027 point guard is making the move from Osborne High School in Metro Atlanta to Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he'll spend his senior season competing against high-level talent while continuing to prepare for college basketball.
Winters viewed Westminster Academy as the ideal place to challenge himself both on and off the court. With aspirations of contributing immediately at the collegiate level, he believes competing in a demanding environment will better prepare him for the transition to college basketball.
The NBA remains the ultimate goal, a vision that fuels his daily approach to training and development.
On the floor, Winters offers a unique blend of size and versatility. At 6-foot-7, he has the ability to score at all three levels while using his length and athleticism to defend multiple positions. Whether creating offense with the ball in his hands, knocking down perimeter shots, or attacking the rim, he brings the type of all-around skill set that continues to attract attention from college programs.
His development has also been shaped by a commitment to studying the game. As his basketball IQ has grown, so has his understanding of pace, spacing, and decision-making, allowing him to become a more complete player.
Competing with OTP on the travel circuit has provided additional opportunities to face elite competition throughout the year, further accelerating his growth against some of the nation's top prospects.
Heading into his senior season, Winters has set high expectations. Beyond preparing himself physically by adding strength, his focus is on helping Westminster Academy compete for a state championship while establishing himself as a player capable of making an immediate impact at the college level.
Those around Winters describe him as a vocal leader, an unselfish teammate, and a competitor with a winning mentality. His leadership extends beyond basketball, where he continues to emphasize the importance of academics alongside athletic development. He believes success in the classroom creates opportunities on the court and encourages younger athletes to approach both with confidence and discipline.
As he begins this next chapter in South Florida, Nate Winters is embracing exactly what he was looking for, a new challenge. With his combination of size, versatility, leadership, and long-term vision, the Metro Atlanta product will look to continue elevating his game while preparing for the next step in his basketball journey.
