Marc Wilkins, Founder
BUILT BY AN ATHLETE.
During the early part of my childhood, I played Little League baseball & basketball. Afterwhile, I stuck to basketball and played all the way through high school, and I've spent the last 20 years in branding, design, and marketing. VD Athlete is where both halves of that finally come together.
In 2006, I taught myself Photoshop. In 2007, I picked up a camera and taught myself how to shoot. Nobody showed me either one. I just figured it out.
In 2008, a group of us tried to build a recruitment platform connecting high school athletes with coaches. The idea was right, the timing wasn't. We were about 15 years ahead of where the industry needed to be, so after a year we let it go.
In 2016, I found my way back into sports through brand building, this time working directly with NFL athletes on their image and presence. Two years in, I hit a fork: keep going deeper into sports, or build brands across other industries. I chose to broaden out.
In 2025, I circled back. This time with no split focus. Sports marketing, full time.
Herb Wilkins Jr., President
A PRESIDENT BUILT IN.
Herb's basketball journey started in Little League and never slowed down. He played at a high level through high school, then took his game to the next stage at the University of Tennessee-Martin as a Division 1 athlete.
That path gave him more than playing experience. It gave him a firsthand understanding of what it takes for an athlete to develop, both on the court and off it. Now, as President of VD Athlete, Herb brings that perspective directly into the work, helping shape the strategy behind how athletes get seen and supported.
He also has a natural gift for customer service, the kind that makes athletes and families feel heard, taken care of, and confident in the process from the first conversation on.
His real passion sits closer to the ground: training and teaching the next generation. Herb wants to be in the gym with kids, helping them sharpen their game the same way the sport once sharpened his.
Donny White, Creative
FROM ATHLETE TO ARTIST.
Donny's journey in sports began at an early age in little league, where he played both basketball and baseball before eventually locking in on baseball as his main focus throughout high school. His dedication to the game helped him take the next step in his athletic career, earning the opportunity to play his freshman year at Morehouse College.
Although he is still fairly young, Donny's path through sports has given him firsthand experience with the discipline, work ethic, and commitment it takes to compete at the collegiate level. That experience also shaped the way he sees sports beyond the scoreboard. It gave him a deeper appreciation for the moments, emotion, movement, and details that make athletics special, which now shows up in his creative work.
During the 2020 quarantine, Donny began drawing in his sketchbook, using that time to explore his creativity and develop his eye for design. As he continued to learn, he discovered different forms of digital media and started recreating sports-inspired visuals in Photoshop. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a passion.
With years of self-taught experience and a background as an athlete, Donny now blends his love for sports with his creative vision to produce designs that highlight athletes, tell stories, and capture the beauty of the game in his own unique style.
Brandon Wigley, Partnerships & Client Relations

Brandon brings a sharp eye for relationships and a track record of making them last. With a background in account management and brand partnerships across marketing, sports, and digital media, he knows how to keep clients aligned, campaigns moving, and conversations headed toward growth.
At VD Athlete, Brandon serves as the bridge between athletes, programs, and the team, making sure every client feels heard, every deliverable lands on time, and every relationship is built for the long run. From onboarding a new athlete to managing a full-season program partnership, he handles the communication and follow-through that keeps everything running smoothly.

Jerry Dover, Player Evaluation Analyst
A BASKETBALL MIND FOR THE GAME.
Jerry Dover brings a true basketball mind to VD Athlete as our Player Evaluation Analyst. A former high school and college basketball player, Jerry understands the game from multiple angles, as a player, coach, and evaluator. His experience includes serving as both a head coach and assistant coach at the high school level, along with time as an assistant coach in women’s college basketball.
Jerry’s background gives him a strong feel for player development, game situations, team structure, and what coaches look for when evaluating talent. His knowledge extends across every level, from boys and girls high school basketball to the college and professional ranks. He has a natural ability to evaluate players beyond the box score, identifying strengths, weaknesses, basketball IQ, physical tools, skill development areas, and overall potential.
At VD Athlete, Jerry provides honest, detailed player evaluations that help athletes, coaches, trainers, and families better understand where a player stands and what they need to improve. His role is rooted in the same belief that drives the brand: visibility matters, but the right evaluation helps athletes grow with purpose.

Jason Jamison serves as Basketball Correspondent & Analyst for VD Athlete, where he specializes in player evaluation, basketball analysis, and recruiting coverage. As one of the publication's primary writers, Jason produces player evaluations, recruiting updates, feature articles, game recaps, and analytical content that provides readers with deeper insight into today's rising basketball prospects.
As a former high school basketball player, Jason brings firsthand playing experience and a strong understanding of the game to every evaluation. His ability to identify emerging talent and analyze player development allows him to deliver objective, informed coverage that highlights athletes earning attention through their performance on the court.
