ESPN Releases Class of 2027 Top 100 Rankings, Georgia Places Six Prospects Among Nation's Best
The national spotlight has officially shifted to the future of high school basketball.
ESPN has unveiled its Class of 2027 Top 100 rankings, recognizing the nation's top rising prospects as they continue to establish themselves as some of the most coveted recruits in the country. The list features players who have excelled on the high school stage and across the grassroots circuit, including Nike EYBL, adidas 3SSB, Under Armour Association, USA Basketball, and other premier national events.
Headlining the rankings is Marcus Spears Jr., who claims the No. 1 overall spot after an impressive start to his high school career. He is followed by Beckham Black, Demarcus Henry, CJ Rosser, and Adan Diggs, rounding out ESPN's Top Five prospects in the country.
The release of the rankings provides an early snapshot of one of the deepest recruiting classes in recent years, with college programs across the country already investing significant attention in many of these young stars.
Georgia Continues to Produce Elite Talent
Georgia once again proved why it remains one of the nation's premier basketball recruiting states, placing six players inside ESPN's Top 100.
The Peach State's representatives include No. 24 Jarvis Hayes Jr. (Woodward Academy), No. 27 Kevin Savage III (Wheeler High School), No. 30 Chase Lumpkin (McEachern High School), No. 31 Asa Montgomery (Hillgrove High School), No. 78 Marcus Curry Jr. (Grayson High School), and No. 87 Justin Wise (North Oconee High School).
The six selections further solidify Metro Atlanta's reputation as one of the country's premier talent pipelines. From nationally recognized high school programs to powerhouse AAU organizations, Georgia continues to produce elite prospects who are attracting scholarship offers from some of the nation's top college basketball programs.
National Recruiting Picture Begins to Take Shape
While the ESPN 100 provides an early benchmark, the recruiting landscape is far from settled. Live period performances, national showcases, state championships, and continued player development will all influence future rankings over the next two years.
Many of the players featured in the rankings have already earned attention from major Division I programs, and additional recruiting battles are expected to intensify as the Class of 2027 moves closer to its junior and senior seasons.
For fans, coaches, and recruiters alike, the release of the ESPN 100 offers an early look at the next wave of stars expected to make an impact at the collegiate level and beyond.
