McEachern Star Chase Lumpkin Commits to Alabama
One of Metro Atlanta’s top guards has made his college decision.
McEachern senior Chase Lumpkin has committed to Alabama, choosing the Crimson Tide while preparing for his final high school season in Metro Atlanta.
The 6-foot-4 guard has established himself as one of Georgia’s premier prospects and one of the top players nationally in the 2027 class. Lumpkin brings size and versatility to the backcourt, with the ability to score at multiple spots, create off the dribble and make plays for his teammates.
Lumpkin continued to strengthen his national profile this summer with JET Academy on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging 17.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game against high-level competition.
His recruitment attracted programs from across the country before he narrowed his choices to Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan and USC. Ultimately, Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide won out for one of Metro Atlanta’s most highly regarded seniors.
Before college basketball becomes the focus, Lumpkin still has an entire senior season ahead of him at McEachern. He will remain one of the biggest names to watch in Atlanta high school basketball throughout the 2026-27 season as he looks to close out his prep career before joining Alabama in 2027.
The college decision is made. Now Lumpkin turns his attention back to McEachern.
