AE5 Returns From Paris With International Victory, Led by Tre Keith
PARIS, France. Competing overseas presents a different challenge.
The style of play changes. The environment is unfamiliar. Every possession requires teams to adjust while representing not only themselves, but their program and country. Anthony Edwards Elite 2027 17U embraced that opportunity during its trip to Paris, earning a hard-fought 94-91 victory over the French National Select Team.
The game showcased high-level basketball from start to finish.
Neither side was able to create much separation as the lead changed hands 13 times. The French National Select Team carried a 50-46 advantage into halftime, but AE5 responded with a composed second-half performance, outscoring its opponent 48-41 to complete the comeback.
Leading the charge was Tre Keith.
The Tri-Cities guard delivered a complete performance, finishing with a game-high 25 points while scoring 16 after halftime to help fuel AE5’s rally. Keith shot 10-for-17 from the field, knocked down five three-pointers, dished out eight assists, grabbed three rebounds and added a steal, earning Player of the Game honors.
With the outcome hanging in the balance, Bradyn Langston delivered one of the game’s biggest moments, connecting on the go-ahead three-pointer that gave AE5 the lead for good.
AE5’s balanced attack proved to be the difference throughout the contest.
Preston Echols added 16 points, while Tiago Lee and Isiah Chandler each contributed 10. Christian Gatewood and Jeremiah Evans chipped in nine points apiece, Langston finished with eight and Cruz Jackson added seven as multiple players made timely contributions.
The numbers reflected the way AE5 played.
The team recorded 25 assists on 38 made field goals, demonstrating the unselfish ball movement that has become a trademark of the program. Defensively, AE5 created constant pressure, finishing with 16 steals and four blocked shots while making timely stops down the stretch.
Beyond the final score, the trip to Paris provided another opportunity for Anthony Edwards Elite to compete against international talent while exposing its players to a different brand of basketball. Experiences like these challenge athletes to adapt quickly, communicate effectively and perform in unfamiliar environments, lessons that extend well beyond a single game.
For Keith, the performance added another impressive chapter to an already strong summer. His ability to score efficiently, create opportunities for teammates and take control of the game during the second half once again highlighted why he continues to be one of Georgia’s most productive guards in the Class of 2027.
The victory was more than another result in the win column. It reflected AE5’s ability to compete on an international stage while representing one of the nation’s premier grassroots basketball programs, returning home from Paris with a memorable win against quality competition.
